Description

The ZWO EFW 7x36-25 is part of the next-generation ZWO electronic filter wheels. Its internal structure has been refined to help eliminate light leakage, an important factor for deep-sky imaging during long exposures.

This model supports seven 36 mm filters. The body uses a CNC-machined aluminum alloy construction intended to provide a lighter, more rigid structure. The internal filter carousel is made from 6061 aluminum alloy to maintain strength and stability for reliable rotation.

The EFW 7x36-25 runs without an external power supply, drawing 120 mA at 5 V. It connects via the built-in USB-C port using the included USB 2.0 Type-A to Type-C cable. Control is supported through ASIAIR, ASIStudio, ASCOM, and the ZWO SDK. The design is presented as plug and play with no driver installation required.

Light-leak protection is reinforced through an upgraded sealing interface between covers, added light-blocking pads at lateral connection points, and a fully enclosed motor compartment, improving light isolation and environmental resistance. A high-precision stepper motor is used for stable, consistent operation across extended imaging sessions. Automated filter switching is supported when used with compatible control software such as ASIAIR.
