The Explore Scientific ED80 APO with iEXOS-100 PMC-Eight mount is a powerful telescope kit designed for astrophotographers and serious visual observers. The 80mm triplet air-spaced refractor uses premium Hoya FCD-1 ED glass, delivering excellent chromatic correction and sharpness across the field. The compact 480mm f/6 aluminium tube is lightweight and transportable, making it ideal for field use.

The precision 2" rack & pinion focuser with 1:10 micro-reduction provides stable focusing even with heavy accessories. A 2" mirror diagonal with 99% reflectivity and 1.25" adapter are included.

The iEXOS-100 equatorial GoTo mount features the advanced PMC-Eight™ control system with 8 independent processors, ensuring smooth operation and accurate tracking. It is controlled via Wi-Fi using the ExploreStars app (Windows, Android, iOS) or via ASCOM/INDI software from a PC. The intuitive dual- or triple-star alignment streamlines setup, while the polar sight tunnel and adjustable altitude/azimuth knobs ensure accurate polar alignment.

The mount’s belt-driven stepper motors operate silently and precisely. A stainless steel tripod provides stable support. Additional highlights include illuminated reticles, level bubble, and fluorescent markings for nighttime usability.

A full accessory kit is included: 8x50 illuminated finder, 20mm 62° eyepiece, 2" diagonal, 3x 1 kg counterweights, 12V battery holder (C-cell), and cabling.
