Description
The Baader Planetarium M68a to SP54a adapter is part of the Hyperion DT-Ring series, enabling a direct connection between an M68 x 1 (Zeiss system) thread and an SP54 thread. This configuration is particularly suited for achieving the shortest possible mechanical path between a telecentric system and a camera, or for optimising use of the Fluorite Flatfield Converter (FFC) in high-end imaging setups.

Fully compatible with the Digital T Adapter System III, this adapter ensures a stable and precisely aligned mechanical transition between the M68 and SP54 systems. For example, it allows mounting of an FFC to a DSLR or mirrorless camera via a digital T-ring while keeping optical path length to a minimum, improving image quality and minimising optical degradation.

Its precision-machined aluminium construction provides maximum rigidity, essential for heavy optical components or demanding lunar and planetary astrophotography setups. The adapter offers an optical length of just 6 mm, with a 50 mm clear aperture and a 74.5 mm outer diameter.

For DSLR users wishing to incorporate 2" filters, the M68a to SP54a adapter can be paired with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR (#2408166), allowing filters to be added into the optical path without significantly increasing mechanical spacing.
