Users are often faced with the difficulty of choosing and matching multiple filters and adapters when using a filter drawer. This becomes even more complicated for those who are new to astrophotography. To address this issue, Askar introduces a multifunctional filter drawer. Its main advantage is the integration of the most commonly used filters as well as telescope and astronomy camera adapters on the market. With this five-in-one device, users no longer need to worry about these constraints.

    Assembly Steps

Users must follow the steps below to correctly assemble the Askar filter drawer and insert it into the optical path to fit the entire optical system:

    1. Take out the main body of the Askar filter drawer.

    2. Choose the appropriate camera adapter according to the thread type of your astronomy camera.

    3. Fix the camera adapter onto the main body using five M3×8 countersunk screws and the M2 wrench.

    4. Choose the appropriate telescope adapter according to the thread type of your telescope.

    5. Thread on the telescope adapter.

    6. Connect the filter drawer to the telescope.

    7. Connect the astronomy camera to the filter drawer.

    8. Make sure all accessories are properly tightened and that the entire system has the correct back focus. Additional spacers (optional) can be added to reach the required back focus.

    9. Choose the filter slider suitable for the filter being used.

      • For a 1.25" or 2" mounted filter, thread it directly onto the filter slider.

      • For a 31 mm, 36 mm, or 50 mm unmounted filter, gently place the filter into the circular groove, add a holding ring, then secure it using three M2×4 countersunk screws and the M1.27 wrench to keep the filter in place.

    10. Insert the filter slider into the Askar filter drawer: the system is ready for astrophotography.
