Description:
The iOptron HEM44 Hybrid Equatorial Mount marks a new generation of compact harmonic drive systems. With a mount head weighing only 6.2 kg, it supports an impressive 20 kg payload capacity — no counterweights required — making it ideal for portable astrophotography setups.

The RA axis relies on advanced strain wave gear technology, while the DEC axis uses a backlash-free worm/belt system. Its black anodized CNC-machined metal body provides rugged durability for long-term high-precision use.

The HEM44 features an electronic friction brake and power-down memory, allowing safe interruption and resumption of tracking or GoTo operations without needing realignment. Included is the iPolar electronic polar scope, enabling easy and accurate polar alignment—even in polar-star-obstructed skies.

The mount is compatible with ASCOM/Commander (Windows), INDI (macOS/Linux/Raspberry Pi), SkySafari, and ZWO’s ASIAIR platform. Cable management is fully internal, reducing snagging risks during operation.
