The PlaneWave IRDK12.5 is a 318 mm Dall-Kirkham telescope specifically engineered for infrared or ultraviolet observation. Unlike typical systems, it contains no refractive lenses—only reflective components—resulting in complete chromatic aberration elimination and optimized spectral transmission.

This diffraction-limited system delivers exceptional optical performance over a 20 mm image circle at the focal plane. Its protected gold coatings achieve over 98% reflectivity from 650 nm to 5000 nm, making the IRDK12.5 ideal for IR astronomy, scientific imaging, or LIDAR. UV-enhanced coatings are optionally available.

The optical system features high-purity Fused Silica substrates, chosen for their exceptional thermal and mechanical stability. The OTA includes a 3.5" Hedrick focuser (manual) and is EFA-ready (EFA kit sold separately). A motorized 2.75" focuser option is also available, offering 1.3" of travel and consuming 3" of backfocus (requires #1329012 EFA kit).

Delta-T Ready heating elements are integrated into both primary and secondary mirrors. They require the Delta-T controller #600195 (sold separately), and the wiring is pre-installed at the factory.

Included accessories are a soft cover for the secondary mirror, a full OTA cover, a USB drive with collimation and spacing software, Allen wrench set (Europe only), and a 12V AC adapter.
