DESCRIPTION

The Baader 2" Variable Polarizing Filter fits standard 2" eyepieces and includes two fixed filter elements in a rotating cell, allowing stepless brightness adjustment with consistent optical alignment.

Its solid, non-separable construction prevents misalignment or tilt that can degrade image quality or introduce reflections, ensuring excellent contrast even at high magnifications.

It can be used for solar observation only when combined with a front solar filter such as Baader’s AstroSolar OD 5.0 or a Herschel wedge. It must never be used alone.

While convenient and flexible, this filter does not replace high-end neutral density filters when minimal optical surfaces are required for peak image performance.
