DESCRIPTION

The iOptron GEM45EC is a modern German equatorial mount combining compact design, CNC-machined durability, and high-end tracking performance. With a load capacity of 20 kg and a mount weight of only 7.9 kg, it offers an impressive 2.5:1 payload-to-weight ratio.

Equipped with a high-resolution encoder, the GEM45EC delivers ultra-low periodic error (<0.3 arcsec RMS), making it ideal for long-exposure astrophotography. The integrated iPolar electronic polar scope simplifies polar alignment—even when Polaris is not visible. A dual saddle supports both Losmandy and Vixen dovetails, while large, glove-friendly clutch levers ensure easy gear engagement.

The GEM45EC includes internal cable management, precision stepper motors, real-time PEC, GPS, and a Go2Nova hand controller with over 212,000 objects. The included LiteRoc 1.75" stainless steel tripod provides a lightweight yet rigid base. It ships with a 5 kg counterweight, hard case, AC adapter, cables, and a full accessory kit. Wi-Fi control is available with the optional iStarFi adapter.
