DESCRIPTION
The Sky-Watcher MN 190/1000 combines the advantages of Newtonian reflectors and closed Maksutov systems. The spherical primary mirror and multi-coated Schott meniscus lens produce a perfectly corrected field, free from coma, even at the edges. Its closed design ensures thermal stability and eliminates internal air currents that would degrade long exposure images.
With a fast f/5.3 focal ratio, it allows shorter exposures, and its 1000 mm focal length covers a wide range of targets. The large 58 mm secondary mirror ensures proper illumination for APS-C sensors. The absence of a spider support eliminates diffraction spikes.
The 2" Crayford focuser with 1.25" adapter and 1:10 reduction enables precise focusing, even with heavy cameras. Weighing 12.3 kg, it’s suitable for many equatorial mounts. It competes with apochromatic refractors in visual and imaging performance, without chromatic aberration and at a lower cost.
